Tétraktys’ expertise is now built on a network of partners and skills (innovative companies, elected representatives and mountain local authorities, tourism professionals, universities and educational institutions, as well as institutions and associations), which it mobilises according to needs and project requirements. The team shares responsibility for these missions and is supported each year by 3 to 6 volunteers.
In addition, the strength of Tétraktys’ project management relies on the mobilisation of 27 volunteer associate experts (architecture, anthropology, communication, tourism development, hiking trail design, water management, partnerships, culture, education, etc.). These recognised experts support both the design and monitoring of projects across all countries where Tétraktys operates. They contribute on a short-term basis during field missions, while also assisting project managers in programme design, project engineering, and in the monitoring and implementation of activities. This junior/senior pairing approach creates significant added value for Tétraktys.

Fannie DUPÉ
Board member
Currently Director of COS 38 (Isère Social Services Committee) and, for several years, active in the field of social action, she has developed her interest and skills within associations and local authorities, contributing to public policies and supporting local government staff.
She has developed strategic partnerships between Tétraktys and stakeholders in the social and solidarity-based tourism sector (responsible tour operators), who share a common vision of territorial development and strong values of ethics and solidarity. Her expertise in management and human resources is highly valuable both within Tétraktys and in partner territories, where local stakeholders are undergoing professionalisation.
The organisation of “pilot tours” by COS 38 to Tétraktys destinations represents the final link in the value chain: when local government staff become active contributors to local development, both at home and abroad.

Marylin ELKAN-COURTAUD
Board member
Recruited in the 1970s by Pierre Schnebelen to design and implement the tourism policy of the Tignes resort, she quickly contributed to attracting international visitors to the Savoie region by developing partnerships with tour operators, airlines and railway companies across Europe and the United States, and by establishing communication strategies tailored to each target market.
In 1975, Roger Godino and the leaders of the Les Arcs resort, impressed by her methods, entrusted her with the international marketing of the destination. Faced with the rapid annual increase in accommodation capacity, she went on to create Tourarc International, a tour operator established in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and later the United Kingdom.
In 1987, she founded her own consultancy specialising in operational tourism marketing. It was during this time that she first became involved in the Vercors region and met Jean Faure. Later, driven by the conviction that collective well-being benefits all, she co-initiated the International Fair for Solidarity Tourism with Tétraktys, mobilising financial partners from her professional network in the tourism sector. Since then, she has continued to support the development of Tétraktys.
Jean-Claude PRAIRE
Board member
Initially a sports instructor and later a trainer, Jean-Claude Praire mainly taught Nordic skiing and mid-mountain activities (as well as caving, climbing, canoeing, sailing and cycling) in the Alps and the Pyrenees. Based in the Vercors, he made the decision in 1983 to sustain his professional activities by founding, with his partner, the agency Grand Angle—a tour operator specialising in nature-based itinerant travel, both guided and self-guided, primarily in Europe. Forty years later, and following its takeover by his sons in 2017, Grand Angle now employs over 20 permanent staff (excluding guides), with offices in Autrans-Méaudre and subsidiaries in Italy and Greece.
Alongside this, he developed guesthouses and later tourist lodges. He also served as a municipal councillor from 2014 to 2020, chaired the inter-municipal Tourist Office, was a board member of the GTV (Grande Traversée du Vercors), and contributed to the Vercors Regional Natural Park project group for the rehabilitation of the Piroulet holiday village in Vassieux.
He now focuses on running, with his wife, a large 4-star lodge in Autrans and enjoys cycling along major European long-distance routes.
Catherine WALDURA
Board member
After 20 years of experience in the industrial sector, Catherine retrained in cabinetmaking and now designs bespoke, French-made furniture. She previously worked as a project manager in the energy sector and spent some time living in Asia, particularly in Laos, where she discovered Tétraktys.

An agronomy engineer specialised in soil science and land planning, he quickly turned towards training and supporting project leaders at the territorial level. Gwenn completed a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish at Stendhal University in Grenoble, followed by a third year Bachelor’s degree in Tourism at IEFT in Lyon, and a four-month internship in Cambodia with an inbound travel agency. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Tourism, Territories, Innovation and Governance at Sciences Po Grenoble, along with a three-month internship in the “Tourism Development and Marketing” department of the National Tourism Chamber in Honduras. She completed her second year Master’s degree through a work-study placement with the tourism consultancy Planeth in Paris.

She joined Tétraktys at the end of 2020 as part of a civic service programme on education initiatives linked to Senegal, Burkina Faso and Palestine. After her volunteer placement, she went on to work for a Rhône-Alpes-based NGO operating in northern Senegal, where she specialised in Global Citizenship and International Solidarity Education (GCED) projects.
At the end of 2022, she returned to Grenoble and rejoined the Tétraktys team, this time as a Project Officer, working on GCED programmes and West Africa projects.
Tom DARBON
Mountain Unit Lead
Mapping and promotion of territories
Having grown up in the Jura region, Tom left his hometown to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Spatial Planning in Besançon. Despite his attachment to Franche-Comté, his passion for the mountains led him to Grenoble, where he completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Geography at the Institute of Alpine Geography and Urban Planning. He concluded his academic journey in Finland with an internship focused on the study of boreal wildlife.
Passionate about cartography and a graphic designer in his spare time, he first joined Tétraktys as part of a civic service programme in 2021 before becoming a staff member of the organisation a year later. Tom contributes across several programmes, working in a transversal way within Tétraktys.
Bastien MONTOVERT
Resilience of mountain territories project officer
Originally from the Isère region and passionate about the mountains, Bastien initially pursued studies in hospitality and catering before his passion for travel led him towards tourism. It was during an internship in Peru that he developed a strong interest in Latin America and became aware of the many social and environmental challenges linked to tourism development in rural areas.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Ecotourism and a Master’s degree in Tourism with a focus on Latin America from ESTHUA in Angers, he specialised in alternative forms of tourism in rural environments. His experiences in Mayotte, Peru and French Guiana further strengthened his commitment to more equitable tourism.
Bastien first joined the Tétraktys team in Grenoble as part of a civic service programme in January 2024, supporting Latin America cooperation projects, before becoming a Project Officer eight months later on the Waterwise programme, which addresses the future of Alpine territories in the context of climate change. This programme is fully aligned with his strong commitment to ensuring a livable and sustainable future for mountain communities.
Fanny KAIKATI
Mediterranean project manager
Fanny, who is French-Lebanese and committed to international solidarity and rural development, grew up in Grenoble before studying political science in Bordeaux. She graduated in 2017 with a Master’s degree in “Risk and Development in the Global South” from Sciences Po Bordeaux, and began her career on the institutional side at the French Development Agency (AFD) in Paris.
Driven by a desire to specialise in the Arab world, she moved to Egypt in 2018 to deepen her knowledge of Arabic, before settling in Lebanon from 2019 to 2024. There, she joined the operational side of the NGO sector and contributed to projects focused on rural development and the strengthening of civil society.
In 2025, Fanny joined Tétraktys as Mediterranean Project Manager, where she supports the development of major long-distance hiking trails and networks across several countries in the Mediterranean region.

She notably worked for nearly five years on projects related to Cambodia, including two years based there with the French Development Agency (AFD). Over time and through her experience, Morgane has specialised in sustainable local development project management, particularly in the fields of agriculture, environment, access to water and sanitation in rural areas, and support to civil society organisations.
She joined the Tétraktys team in January 2025 as International Project Manager for the Asia region, and works in tandem with Gwenn on projects in Colombia.
Frédérique MOUTON
Administrative and Financial Manager
Frédérique joined Tétraktys with solid experience in administrative and financial management, built over several years as an administrative and financial manager. Specialised in finance and accounting, she has also been actively involved in the non-profit sector, supporting organisations as an accounting advisor.
Her career reflects a strong commitment to the social and solidarity economy. She has notably worked within an activity and employment cooperative, supporting project leaders in the creation and development of their businesses. This experience enabled her to strengthen her skills in administrative monitoring, budget management and entrepreneurial support, while fostering a collaborative and people-centred approach.
Her arrival at Tétraktys is a natural continuation of her values: promoting responsible, inclusive and meaningful initiatives. Rigorous, organised and attentive, she applies her expertise to strengthening internal processes and ensuring the smooth administrative and financial management of the organisation. Frédérique is enthusiastic about contributing to a mission that connects local development, openness to the world and respect for the environment.

Sakhaty Niakhasso
Project manager, Laos
Sakhaty is a socio-educational facilitator committed to working with young people and promoting intercultural dialogue. His journey is guided by a strong conviction: education, knowledge-sharing and intercultural exchange are essential tools for shaping open-minded, aware and engaged citizens.
Originally from a region rich in history and diversity, he is particularly committed to promoting Eastern Senegal, a territory with diverse cultural, human and environmental heritage. Through his work, he aims to raise awareness of its realities, its strengths, but also the challenges faced by its communities, especially young people.
His approach is based on participatory and inclusive pedagogy. He leads dynamic sessions combining interactive presentations, group work, audiovisual materials, debates and open discussions. This method encourages participants to take an active role in their learning, develop critical thinking and express themselves freely in a respectful environment.
At the core of his engagement are strong values: listening, respect, solidarity and open-mindedness. His objective is to create spaces where each young person can learn, question the world and better understand other realities, while reflecting on their own place in society.
Beyond knowledge-sharing, he seeks to foster cross-cultural perspectives, encourage dialogue and promote lasting mutual understanding.
Jean-Yves PAILLE
Responsable de projets, Laos
After studying geography with a focus on spatial planning and local development, mainly between Dijon and Montreal, and following in the footsteps of his grandfather—an avid world traveller—Jean‑Yves naturally set out to explore the world on foot, by bike, kayak, motorbike and bus, seeking unique experiences through encounters with local communities across all five continents… with a particular attachment to Southeast Asia, where he has been based for over 18 years.
Passionate about local scale dynamics, territories and local heritage, responsible tourism gradually became a key tool for him in fostering development and enhancing territorial identities.
A father of two children, to whom he passes on his passions, Jean‑Yves joined Tétraktys in January 2021 on the Laos–Khammouane project, where he coordinates the FICOL component and the Khammouane Ecotourism programme, focusing on the enhancement of landscapes in close collaboration with local communities.
